Second dive and as it turns out last dive of the week end off the Breakwater. Thumb is still traumatised but decided it persevere. Last time I dived here with Paul he had a nice bottle find so this is what we are after. Just Russell and I to dive. Another good dive considering the conditions 67 minutes. Came across a lot of abandoned lobster pots one with two of the biggest crabs I have seen for years. They have obviously been trapped in the pot for some time. There is no way you would get them out through the entrance. We managed to cut open some of the netting but it was also banded with steel wire. I tried to pull them through but they were not having it. I had planned in my mind to return next day with a hacksaw but unfortunately the weather beat us. So they will be there next time or get out through the holes we cut.  Just finish off with we both recovered a bottle. Although I think Russell's may have gone to his head a bit.

Just what he is expecting to find on his next dive is anyone's guess. Do not worry Kate he says he was not wasting money, from now on birthdays; anniversaries and special occasions are all taken care of with a selection of "Ob Jay Dar" from the deep!!!!!!!!

Just get the shelves up!!!!

Another good weekend we could do with a few more members down here everyone is getting fed up of my one-liners. You do not have to be a  "Ruffy Tuffy Diver" all levels are catered for and if nothing else its always good fun.

Since the last dive article I have found out some more information on the gas ring that Russell recovered. These rings were used in muzzleloaders not only to stop loss of gas but also to impart spin before rifling became the norm. For anyone who doesn't know. Barrels that are rifled or scored with spiral lines make bullets or projectiles spin. This makes them more accurate. Right is a picture of a magazine in which you can see the gas rings on the right hand of the table.

For those of you who have the urge for a cannonball feast your eyes on these lying on the shore of the Tamar.
